Kathryn is a Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Certified Hospice Palliative Nurse (CHPN). She has 40 years Registered Nurse experience, 35 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, with 23 years’ hospice experience.
Kathy is currently a certified coach with the John Maxwell Team, as well professional speaker. Kathy’s coaching is based on principles of ontology. Her practice of nursing is also grounded in Rosemary Parse’s nursing theory, Human Becoming, grounded in principles of ontology. Kathy is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RY200), and Certified Warriors at Ease Teacher, teaching Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Meditation in Military Communities.
Kathy has presented nationally on topics related to caring for our country’s Veterans at end of life and authored published articles. Kathy helps nurses and healthcare professionals recover from traumatic experiences, and secondary traumatic stress, Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress, and Moral Injury, as well as all traumatized populations, and Healthcare Professionals who provide care and service to this population. She offers a program she developed which addresses Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS) experienced by Hospice Healthcare Professionals.
Kathy teaches weekly trauma sensitive meditation classes. She offers trauma recovery workshops for groups, and communities. She helps individuals and communities recover from trauma through trauma recovery coaching based on principles of ontology.
